Description

Produced in 1975 as part of the Issei Gerontology Project, this film showcases the social support services provided by the Japanese American Service Committee to the aging Issei population in Chicago. It features scenes of clients receiving home support services and counseling services and participating in the Sheltered Workshop program and recreational programming. JASC staff members Eiko Fricke, Tomoko Satoh, Dorothy Kaneko, Fred Odanaka, and Ichiro Kagei appear in the film. The closing credits include footage of Issei participating in a community garden project and going on an outing for ice cream.
