Description
Chiyoko describes her experiences growing up on Terminal Island. She talks about moving to L.A. right before the Evacuation and her experiences at the school there. Chiyoko describes what camp life and food was like. She discusses leaving the Poston to go to school and work inland. She talks about a Mennonite family she has fond memories of. Chiyoko explains why she resettled in the Midwest and why she joined the Resettlers Committee and the importance of supporting other Japanese Americans. She is glad that the JASC is doing the oral history project and hopes her story and other stories will be helpful for future generations.
